Bare trees
In the winter we see a lot of bare trees, so for this inchie
I used a stamp of a branch and drew some more branches.

Winter
This Inchie year is all about the seasons.
We start with winter because it is now winter
in the part of the world where Margriet and I live.
This year I make my inchies as much as possible with stamps and stickers.
This inchie is a little piece of scrap paper with a sticker on top.

Falling Needles Family Fest Day
Falling Needles Family Fest Day is observed annually 30th.
This day is a reminder for those of us who enjoyed a live Christmas tree
over the holidays to clean it up and recycle it.
Since a few years we have a artificial tree, because the needles
of the real one started to fall the day we put it up!
And we leave it in our living room
until the kids have to go to school again in January!

Pfeffernussse Day
December 23rd is reserved for this German spice cookie. It is National Pfeffernusse Day.
Very popular around the holidays, pfeffernusse are fluffy cookies made with ground nuts and spices and covered in powdered sugar.
The exact origin in unknown however the Dutch believe that pfeffernusse (or pepernoten) are linked to the feast of Sinterklaas, which is celebrated on December 5 in the Netherlands and December 6 in Germany and Belgium.
As I am Dutch I eat pepernoten at Sint Nocolaas.
We have pepernoten and kruidnoten, but most people call them both pepernoten.

Chocolate Covered Anything Day
On December 16, we’ll all be celebrating National Chocolate Covered Anything Day.
This is the day you’ve been waiting for.
All those times when you wondered,
“What would this taste like dipped in chocolate?”
can now officially be answered.
Maybe you’re into the basics, like chocolate covered fruit or cookies,
but you rarely take the time to dip these ingredients.
Or, perhaps you’re a bit more adventurous and are looking to try out
a new chocolate-encased dish. (French fries? Fish sticks?)
